PR Account Executive

Russell Communications is a fast-growing financial services PR consultancy, advising global, European and UK financial institutions from across the financial services sector. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a motivated, career-orientated and commercially aware PR account executive to join our Bath headquartered team.  The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with onsite presence as required.

The role will involve:

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and media
• Drafting and distributing press releases and bespoke media pitches
• Working with digital lead on monitoring and analysing media coverage and contributing insight to client reporting
• Handling media enquiries, building and maintaining media lists
• Managing account management processes, including coordination of meetings, event logistics and campaign planning
• Undertaking research for and contributing insight into new business proposals and commissioning market research
• Supporting the firm at events including press conferences, photo shoots, press trips, trade shows and media meetings
• Managing the firm’s social media channels and website, engaging with users and contributing to its social media strategy
• Supporting community engagement initiatives and helping foster positive community relations

About you:

The role would suit a candidate at an early stage of their communications career or a strong graduate with relevant internships.

We are looking for candidates who:

• are pro-active, organised, enthusiastic and detail-oriented
• have strong written communication skills and able to translate complex financial topics into clear, concise and engaging content
• have strong verbal communication skills and an ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of people, including clients and industry media
• are hands on, able to take on responsibility and manage parallel priorities effectively
• will thrive in a collaborative, supportive and fast-moving environment
• and have a genuine interest in PR, media and events, a commercial awareness and an understanding of how media supports business objectives.

Experience in PR, financial services or journalism would be advantageous but not essential.
